A new national survey found that many middle and high school students are often bored in math class. Many decide early on that they aren’t a “math person." Has your child ever felt this way?
Those students most prone to disengage say they are tired of digital worksheets, and they want math that feels useful and connected to everyday life. Like learning how to budget, tracking and interpreting data, measuring for a building project, or figuring out the best value while shopping.
Why does this matter? Because engagement is one of the strongest predictors of student success. When students are interested in what they're learning, they try harder, retain more, and are more likely to persevere through challenges.
