Don’t let your school tell you these three things:

Grades can represent many additional factors beyond assessments; these include behavior, homework, participation and even attendance. Ask your child or your child's teacher(s) about what factors go into their grade and then review the assessments that provide a more objective view of your child's ability to meet grade-level expectations.

Two-thirds of kids who fall behind will never catch up! In almost every district, the percentage of students behind grade level grows with successively older grades, meaning the original kids who were behind clearly didn’t all catch up, and additional students fell behind. Math is cumulative, so if your child is struggling in math, getting them extra support is critical for success.
