The answer matters too. If you want elevators that stop before hitting the ground, air traffic control systems that work, and syringes that inject the correct dosage into your arm – the right answer matters. If only the journey counted, we wouldn’t have fire trucks, staircases, and x-ray machines. All of those are built around real numbers and correct answers to mathematical problems. Our children need to learn how to find the right answer. And yes, we can teach them resilience, problem solving, and perseverance along the journey, too.
